Old Brompton Road

The flat we refurbished at Old Brompton Road is in the mansion block called The Mansions. With a beautiful red brick and beautiful detailed facade, the flat also retained original features that we only wanted to reinstate.

The work of the main contractor was to carefully retained and refurbish all moudlings, doors, windows and architraves to enhance them.

The proposal consisted on inverting the original floor plan to allow for a front open plan living and rationalize the sleeping areas, moving the master bedroom to the quieter rear facade. The original bathroom was redesigned to fit an en-suite to the new master bedroom and a shower room for the second bedroom.

All materials were carefully chosen to give coherence and quality to the ensemble. The microcement was chosen as a background material to highlight the travertine and marbles used in both the kitchen and the bathrooms.

Matthew Dwyer built a beautiful joinery we designed to articulate the living and dining space.

Pictures of the final result to come soon!
